The top 10 have been chosen from more than 500 Kia technicians up and down the country who entered the national competition.
The winner of the UK final, being held on November 30th at Kia Motors (UK) Ltd's Technical and Training Centre in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, will go through to represent the UK in the finals in Seoul early next year where they will compete against technicians from all over the world.
This year's UK finalists are Nick Armitage of Acre Lane Kia, Colin Campbell of Richard Cort Kia, Jonathan Dodd of BS Mason and Sons, Gerald James of Bolton Kia, Lee Mason of Penton Kia, William Matthews of Dicksons of Inverness, James Newcomb of Harbour Garage, Andy Nuttall of Perry's Kia and James Paling of Humphries and Parks.
Two years ago Lee Grieve of Border Cars won a silver medal in the world finals that saw 63 competitors from 44 countries take part and Border Cars colleague Paul Crawford also made it through to South Korea that year.

In the final they will have 5 more exercises, this time working directly on vehicles. The competition is tough but there is huge enthusiasm for the event as shown by the number of entries we have had this year. It's a great opportunity as well to go to South Korea, visit Kia's car factories and experience Korean culture.
The Skill World Cup has three categories - engine, chassis and electrical - in which technicians undergo practical tests to assess their ability to identify and repair problems on a test car plus a written examination.
